Here we have two members of The Manhattan Transfer putting out a release dedicated to composer Cy Coleman. Mr. Coleman, born Seymour Kaufman and raised in the Bronx, NY, is famous for writing the songs Witchcraft and The Best is Yet to Come. Both songs are of course included on this release. In addition, the song that Mr. Coleman is perhaps best well-known for, the Playboy Theme Song, is also included.

Sunday's show opens with the absolutely gorgeous strings found on Alan Broadbent's 2006 release Every Time I Think of You. Also featured is new material from Alexis Cole,  as well as George Benson, Luther Allison, Karrin Allyson, Brian Landrus, and so many more great artists.

The Sunday Jazz Brunch Presents Gabriel Espinosa: From Yucatán to Tarrytown Air Date: 7/7/2024 on 90.5 WICN 8am-12pm ET I'm impressed with the lineup of artists appearing at Mark Morganelli's Jazz Forum in Tarrytown, New York. Recently Gabriel Espinosa performed with his superb band. In the photo above, we see Mr. Espinosa feeling the bass, with drummer Graciliano Zambonin reacting to the groove of the moment. Four or five names pop up on Wikipedia, mostly violin players who also happen to occasionally play viola.
